Waterloo Euclid Contest (Grade 12)

The Euclid Contest is Waterloo’s most prestigious high school math competition, influencing university admissions, scholarships, and STEM opportunities worldwide.

What is the Euclid Contest?

The Euclid Contest is organized by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo. It is open to Grade 12 students (or below) and consists of 10–12 written-response questions to be solved in 2.5 hours. Calculator use is permitted.

Euclid is unique because it requires full written solutions, not just answers, making it a strong measure of mathematical reasoning and communication. Results are directly considered by Waterloo’s Faculty of Mathematics for admissions and scholarships.
